Hotels Catalonia is a family chain of hotels with headquarters in Barcelona, Spain. The chain currently has 51 establishments. 43 in Spain, 1 in Brussels and 7 resorts in the Caribbean (3 in the Dominican Republic and 4 in Mexico).
CATALONIA PRIVILEGE MAROMA
Catalonia Privilege Maroma is one of three Catalonia Resorts in the Riviera Maya and sits at the middle of the price range for the three. Although being a fairly small and more intimate resort compared to the larger chains, the Catalonia Privilege Maroma (CPM) offers the full all-inclusive resort experience. CPM is located on one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in all of the Riviera Maya. The resort sits on the beach surrounded by astonishing mangroves, native to the Yucatan jungle. It is comprised of 6 three story villas, with spacious areas inside and spectacular mangrove jungle views on the outside. CPM features one large main buffet serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with a creperie, juice and smoothie bar, three adult beverage bars and four specialty restaurants.
This resort also has free WiFi, tennis court, a beach volleyball court, decent size pool, fitness center, and full-service Spa. Due to its incredible location on the Maroma beach, room selection, and decent quality and variety of food, The Catalonia Privilege Maroma is one of the best overall “bang-for -the-buck” all-inclusive resort in the Riviera Maya.
CATALONIA RIVIERA MAYA
Located in the exclusive area of Puerto Aventuras, Catalonia Riviera Maya Resort & Spa is the lowest priced of the three Catalonia resorts. It is situated right in the heart of Riviera Maya, on a white-sand beach 300 meters (328 yards) from the marina in the gated community of Puerto Aventuras, this hotel is 19 km (12 miles) south of Playa del Carmen and 80 km (50 miles) from the Cancun International Airport.
The rooms are nicely appointed and offers several selections for those traveling as families with younger children. The beach offers several different areas to choose from including a lagoon inlet to explore. Although, not very large, there are five separate swimming pools to choose from that are shared with its sister resort Catalonia Yucatan (see below).
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are offered daily at the buffet restaurants and guest will enjoy up to three a la carte dinners per person for each weeks stay. (four a la carte meals per person for privilege level guests) at one of the four specialty restaurants. Of course the All Inclusive nature of the resort includes unlimited beverages (wine, beer, sodas, water, etc) at any of the seven bars located around the resort. There are also other activities such as tennis, soccer (futbol), ping pong, archery and bicycles which can be used to go over to the marina to explore and shop.
CATALONIA YUCATAN BEACH
The Catalonia Yucatan Beach is the sister resort to Catalonia Riviera Maya (located right next door) and the properties share the same beach front area and use of the pools as well as the specialty restaurants and SPA. Both resorts offer room selections with ocean views. As with the Catalonia Riviera Maya, the Yucatan Beach is also very moderately priced making it a great deal for a vacation destination.
CATALONIA ROYAL TULUM
The Catalonia Royal Tulum is an all-adult resort, which means guest must be at least 18 years old, and is located on a magnificent stretch of beach is surrounded by towering jungles, mangrove forests and cenotes (fresh water sinkholes) on one side, and by the vast sea on the other. The layout of this resort is vary similar to the Catalonia Privilege Maroma and offers multiple three story buildings with a variety of room choices.
Guest at the Royal Tulum will enjoy, 24 hour room service, internet connection (WI-FI) throughout the hotel, a la carte breakfast at the La Selva restaurant and continental breakfast at the La Palapa Restaurant. as well as a la carte lunch and buffet, and a la carte dinner at four different theme restaurants. Privilege level guest will enjoy added benefits such as access to the SPA, 10% discount in all extra services, early check -in and late check -out upon availability, privileged exclusive area on the beach, with drinks and food (lunch), privileged BLoved Restaurant (breakfast, lunch and dinner with vegetarian organic menu) and Bar BLoved located at the beachfront.
The Catalonia Royal Tulum’s incredible beach, pool and extremely reasonable price point makes it one of the best deals for an all-adult resort experience.
